Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (8-9 hours). Enjoy scenic views of rural Nepal along the way.
Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (6-7 hours). Walk through terraced fields, picturesque villages, and lush forests.
Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (6-7 hours). Cross the Budhi Gandaki River multiple times and pass through traditional Gurung villages.
Trek from Jagat to Deng (6-7 hours). Ascend through forests and terraced fields, enjoying views of Manaslu and other surrounding peaks.
Trek from Deng to Namrung (6-7 hours). Pass through beautiful villages like Bihi and Sho, with stunning views of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal.
Trek from Namrung to Shyala (5-7 hours). Trek through dense forests and picturesque landscapes, with views of Manaslu and its surrounding peaks.
Trek from Shyala to Samagaon (2-3 hours). Trek through dense forests, with perfect panoramic views of Manaslu and its surrounding peaks.
Explore the village of Samagaon. Optional hike to Pungyen Gompa or Manaslu Base Camp for acclimatization.
Trek from Samagaon to Samdo (3-4 hours). Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and explore the Tibetan-influenced village of Samdo.
Explore the surrounding hills or relax in Samdo. Rest and acclimatize before crossing the Larkya La Pass.
Trek from Samdo to Dharamsala (Larkya Phedi) (4-5 hours). Ascend gradually towards Dharamsala, the base of the Larkya La Pass.
Cross the challenging Larkya La Pass. Descend to Bimthang, enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers (8-9 hours).
Trek from Bimthang to Tilije (5-6 hours). Descend through rhododendron forests and picturesque villages.
Trek from Tilije to Tal (5-6 hours). Walk through beautiful landscapes and terraced fields.
Trek from Tal to Syange (5-6 hours). Descend along the Marsyangdi River, passing through waterfalls and lush forests.
Trek from Syange to Besisahar (2-3 hours). Drive back to Kathmandu (6-7 hours).
Foreign trekkers need to obtain a special trekking permit called the "Restricted Area Permit" for the Manaslu Circuit Trek. Additionally, you will require a Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP) and Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP).
The best times to trek the Manaslu Circuit are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. During these months, the weather is generally stable, offering clear views of the Himalayas and comfortable trekking conditions.
Accommodation along the Manaslu Circuit Trek ranges from teahouses to basic lodges in the villages. These accommodations offer basic amenities such as shared rooms, blankets, and meals. It's advisable to carry a sleeping bag for added comfort, especially at higher altitudes.
For the Manaslu Circuit Trek, hiring a guide is mandatory, and while opting for a porter is optional, it's highly recommended, especially for foreign trekkers. Guides and porters offer valuable insights, enhance safety, and assist with navigation and communication in the local community.
